Biography
Dr. Yasufumi Sato received his M.D. from Kobe University in 1978, and his Ph.D. from Kyushu University in 1987. He worked at the Department of Cell Biology, New York University School of Medicine as a postdoctoral fellow from 1987 to 1989. He was appointed to be an assistant Professor at Oita Medical University in 1989, and then promoted to be a full Professor at the present position in 1994. His research theme is the regulation of angiogenesis. He is the associate editor of Cancer Science, and is the previous president of Japanese Vascular Biology and Medicine Organization.
